Send your ideas on energy security through our Essay Competition. The Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) is pleased to announce the PYC Essay Competition to recognize the valuable contributions from energy enthusiasts in elevating the actions and collaboration to enhance energy transition. This competition will be held for several months prior to the conference. The program aims to promote the conference and provide platforms for those interested in energy, environment, and sustainability and voicing their ideas.
For this competition, participants can submit their essays of the following topics:
- Sustainable Energy Investment
- Environment and Climate Change
- Energy Security
- Circular Economy
- Green Economy
- Electricity and Energy Storage
- Energy Efficiency and Conservation
- Dynamics and Geopolitics of Energy Transition
- The Role of Fossil Energy in the Energy Transition
- The Future of Electric Vehicles and Material Resources
- Human Capital Readiness and Green Job to Energy Transition
- Gender Equality and Social Inclusion on Energy Transition
- Decarbonizing the Industry Sector
- Electrifying the Frontier, Remote and Disadvantaged Area
- Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage
General Guidelines
- The Essay competition is open to high school and undergraduate students. There is no fee associated with the registration or submission.
- This competition is open for personal and team entry. Team participation is limited to only 2 members.
- The essay must be written in English.
- The full essay shall be between 800-1000 words (excluding footnotes, tables, figures and references).
- Font, Space and Margin: Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, margin 1 inch on all sides.
- Tables and figures: Times New Roman font size 11, single line spacing.
- Footnotes: Times New Roman font size 10, single line spacing.
- Titles: Written in English, Times New Roman font size 14, Font Bold, 1.5 line spacing.
- The essay shall contain (i) the full name(s) of the author(s) without any title or degree, (ii) name of department or institutional affiliation, (iii) email address(es) of the author(s).
- Please use op.ed style for your essay.
- By submitting an essay, participant acknowledged and agreed that PYC will own the rights to the submitted work.
- Criteria:
- Substance and originality of the concept;
- Clarity, organization, and coherence;
- Composition and writing style;
- Relevance and practicality; and
- Grammar and the use of the language.
