Topic: Achieving Energy Security and Economic Growth while Ensuring Environmental Sustainability.
This session will explore how sustainable energy can serve as a catalyst for green growth, focusing on practical strategies to balance economic ambitions of Indonesia with environmental and social sustainability. As a developing nation, Indonesia relies heavily on manufacturing and downstream industries as key drivers of economic growth, which are energy-intensive and often dependent on fossil fuels. This creates a critical challenge: how to achieve the government’s target of 8% economic growth while transitioning to a sustainable energy future?
The session will emphasize the importance of delivering energy access, job creation, and industrial development in ways that are both inclusive and environmentally responsible. Discussions will highlight how sustainable energy solutions, such as renewable energy integration, energy efficiency, and Carbon Capture, Storage, and Utilization (CCS/CCUS) technologies, can support the resilience and decarbonization of manufacturing and downstream industries without compromising growth. By focusing on realistic, inclusive, and actionable strategies, this session aims to chart a path for Indonesia to achieve its economic growth targets while fostering a resilient, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable future.
